Concern over timing for feedback on MoE Industry Training Review
Ray Lind, CEO of Careerforce, responds below to concerns over the limited time frame for feedback on the MoE's Industry Training Review:
We have received some emails expressing concern over the short time frame for contributing to the Ministry of Education's Industry Training Review.
Careerforce has on four separate occasions provided a face to face briefing with the Ministry analysts writing the report where we strongly encouraged them to broaden their consultation with employers and stakeholders. We even went so far as to provide a list of names and contact details of our key stakeholders.
We only realised this didn't happen when our board met last Friday and requested we contact our key stakeholders and encourage them to participate. We did this at the first available opportunity which was on Monday.
In addition, the Ministry of Education's webpage was down and we have been working with them to ensure it was fixed late Monday and available prior to their deadline.
So whilst we appreciate your frustration we believe we have at the earliest opportunity encouraged both our stakeholders and the Ministry to ensure this process is a fair and widely consultative process.
While we know the short time frame poses some obstacles, we really encourage you to respond. Our employers' voices need to be heard.
